Guide To Pool Installation

The cost of building a pool depends largely on the type, size and accessories you want to go with it, such as heating, lighting, spa, and more. “How much will I spend for pool installation?” This is perhaps the first question that comes to mind when you have the idea of building a pool, whether it is at home, at the club or in the condominium.

But it depends on a number of factors, such as the size and type of the pool, the area where it will be installed, and the accessories and equipment that will be used. It works the same way as finishing a home. The more sophisticated, personalized and structured, the higher the final value.

Where to start?

First of all, you have to decide what type of pool you want to build or install. The most popular models are masonry or reinforced concrete with vinyl, tile or pellet coating. Fiberglass pools are another option, one of the most popular options.

Remember that some accessories and equipment are indispensable for the operation of any pool, such as pump and filter, return devices, vacuum and drains. So when it comes to budgeting, it is important to check if any of this is already included in the price or if the company is just reworking the cost of labor.

What is the price difference between pool models?

Masonry or reinforced concrete pools have a higher cost, however, the durability can reach 30 years. Also, they are easier to customize.

A 10.5 x 4.5 masonry pool, for example, could cost approximately $24,625. The location and conditions of the terrain may also change the value. The final price will also depend on the material used to cover the pool and the accessories.

The cost to install a fiberglass pool is lower, as it is usually sufficient to dig the ground and prepare the base and sides to accommodate the pool.

Because of the ease of installation, fiber pools take less time to get ready for use. However, they are less customizable and the durability is on average 10 years.

Remember that the size of the pool will also influence the capacity of the equipment, since pumps and filters, for example, must be sized according to the volume of water. The larger the pool, the greater the pump power requirement and filter capacity, and of course the higher the amount invested.

Pool installation

Building a cheap pool depends on space in your backyard, set aside an area away from trees, roofs, or some kind of shady building. This is important because it avoids falling leaves or dirt on the water.

After excavating the pool site, you should level the ground and begin to structure the walls using iron before concreting. In pool construction waterproofing is one of the most important factors in preventing leaks. After lifting the walls, hire an electrician and plumber who has pool building experience to do all the installations.

Accessories

It is normal that when you decide to build a pool, you want to install all possible equipment to make it more complete, available even for winter use. But as you might imagine, this also means an increase in the final value of the work. We refer to heaters, lighting, deck, whirlpool devices, among others.

One tip that can help lower the final price of your pool is to try to do everything with the same company. This gives you more bargaining power. So make a list of everything you want, request quotes and hire a specialized company that will help you make what you have in mind a reality.
